Clare Cathcart Dead: 'Call The Midwife' And 'Doctors' Actress Dies, Aged 48

Actress Clare Cathcart, known for her role in ‘Doctors’ as well as appearances in ‘Call The Midwife’ and ‘New Tricks’, has died at her home in Brighton at the age of 48, it has been confirmed.
More recently, Clare - who had a number of credits to her name, both on stage and screen - starred in ‘New Tricks’ and is scheduled to play a school teacher in the forthcoming thriller ‘The White Room’.

Her representatives told HuffPost UK: “It is with huge sadness that we have to report the death of our beloved friend and client Clare Cathcart.
"Clare was brilliant, fearless and funny; a wonderful actor who we are immensely proud to have represented.

“Her credits are too vast to list in full but, to name a few, she’ll be remembered for her work at The Royal Court, The RSC, The National, The Tricycle and Chichester Festival Theatre as well as innumerable appearances on screen, most recently in ‘New Tricks’ and ‘Call The Midwife’.

“Without her razor-sharp wit and glorious laugh the world will seem a darker place. We will miss her enormously.”

Her friend, former ‘Coronation Street’ actor Charlie Condou, said that her death had come as a “shock” to him, claiming she was “full of life” and “one of the most beautiful people” he’d ever met, writing:
