Simone Sherise Battle is an American actress and singer from Los Angeles, California. She was a finalist on The X Factor in 2011. She is the second child out of three to Donna Morgan and Anthhony Battle. She has a sister Joyeux and Brother Elliott.

Simone Battle’s family, friends and fans are mourning the loss of the young singer. The 25-year-old was best known for being a finalist on the first season of the U.S. version of The X Factor, and for being a member of the girls group G.R.L. Take a look back at her life in pictures.

Simone Battle’s Death — Her Life In Pictures

Simone auditioned for The X Factor in 2011 in front of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole and L.A. Reid. She chose to sing “When I Grow Up” by The Pussycat Dolls for her audition.
She quickly moved on to the next round, and was eventually mentored by esteemed judge Simon in the Top 32. Simone was selected to be a part of the live shows, but was eliminated in the first round. She released her single “He Likes Boys” soon after. 
The young singer found success post-X Factor. She became a member of The Pussycat Dolls reboot in 2012 when the original members left the group. In 2013, Robin Antin, the founder of The Pussycat Dolls, announced that the group would now be formally known as G.R.L. The group also included Lauren BennettPaula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton and Natalie Mejia.
In addition to her singing career, Simone was also a dancer in Cali Swag District’s music video “Teach Me How To Dougie.” She made appearances on Zoey 101 and 106 & Park.

Simone Battle Passes Away At 25

Simone died in her home on Sept. 5, her father Anthony E. Battle told MailOnline.
“She will be greatly missed and loved,” her father said. “She was an exuberant person and a very loved person.”
Her death is still under investigation, but Simone’s death is reportedly from an apparent suicide, according to TMZ. However, Simone’s autopsy has not been completed, the L.A. County Coroner’s Office told the outlet.

Since the news broke, Simone’s X Factor family mourned her death on Twitter.
