The Invictus Games is an international Paralympic-style multi-sport event designed for wounded soldiers. Named after Invictus, a poem by William Ernest Henley, the event was inspired by the Warrior Games, a similar event
held in the United States, and will see service personnel
compete in a number of different sports, including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and indoor rowing.

Pregnant Kate drops out of Invictus Games opening ceremony
THE Duchess of Cambridge has dropped out of tonight's Invictus Games opening ceremony days after announcing she was pregnant with her second child.
Kate, who has been suffering from acute morning sickness, will miss the curtain raiser tonight and the athletics event tomorrow.
The Invictus Games is the brainchild of Prince Harry and is a Paralympic-style competition bringing together ex-army service personnel.
Prince William's wife, 32, also missed the formal opening of a new £21million Oxford University centre on Monday - the day she announced her pregnancy.
Kensington Palace said: "The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games this evening or the athletics event tomorrow.
"The Duchess's attendance on the forthcoming visit to Malta will be kept under review and a decision taken closer to the time."
